Lake Bluff School Caucus
About the Caucus The Schools We Serve Caucus Area map Current Candidates

The Lake Bluff School Caucus nominates and supports candidates for both the Lake Bluff Elementary District 65 and Lake Forest High School District 115 school boards. Nominating for District 115 is shared between the Lake Bluff School Caucus and the Lake Forest Caucus. The Lake Bluff School Caucus nominates for two of the seven District 115 seats. The Lake Forest Caucus nominates 4 seats. In the past, the nomination for an unincorporated (i.e., Knollwood) seat was done by the Lake Bluff Caucus. We are in negotiations with the Lake Forest Caucus to determine who nominates that seat.

Below is information on both of these districts. Please visit their respective web sites for more information.

LAKE BLUFF ELEMENTARY DISTRICT 65

LAKE FOREST HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 115

Lake Forest High School serves the residents of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. A community of 22,000, primarily business and professional residents, evidences a strong demand for excellence. These communities are exceptionally supportive of its many diverse institutions. For Lake Forest High School, this assistance takes the form of college scholarships, foreign exchange programs, purchase of special equipment, underwriting leadership training, and summer workshops for students.

Originally built in 1935, the facilities have had substantial renovation. The school facilities include a studio theater, a renovated auditorium theater, a complete array of special education facilities, computer labs, a student publication center, a photography lab, a television studio with a collection of 5,500 curriculum-related videotapes, a computerized library with CD-ROM information retrieval, a field house, a climbing wall, and a swimming pool with diving well. A successful referendum in November 2006 will allow construction of a music wing, an improved and enlarged library, an updated student cafeteria and commons area, and additional classroom space.

The average tenure of faculty members at Lake Forest High School is 9.9 years, and more than 77 percent of the faculty hold master’s degrees or beyond. Members of the faculty have been instrumental in the development of Advanced Placement courses, serve on a number of state curriculum committees, and have authored articles in professional journals and textbooks as well as novels.
