The following Caucus-nominated candidates were elected to the school boards in the Consolidated General Election on April 17, 2007. The next school board election will be in April 2009. See the Lake County Clerk's web site for more election and voting information.

Lake Bluff Elementary School District 65

Kimberly S. Burke

Kim has been a resident of Lake Bluff since 2003.  Prior to the birth of her twin sons, she was an executive director at Lake Forest Hospital. Kim is now enjoying her time as a stay-at-home mom. She has a bachelors degree in health information management and an MBA. Kim and her husband Sean have four children: Jenelle and Scott, who both attend East School, and Tadgh and Brendan, who are 10 months old.

 

Terry Kearney

Terry and his family have lived in Lake Bluff for the past 16 years, and he is a lifelong resident of the Lake Forest/Lake Bluff community. He is currently the chief operating officer at Hospira, a specialty pharmaceutical and medical products company headquartered in Lake Forest. Terry and his wife Vicky have two sons enrolled in Lake Bluff schools.

 

 

Corinne Torkelson

Corinne is currently serving on the Lake Bluff District 65 School Board.  She is the district’s representative on the Joint Shared Services Committee with School Districts 115 and 67, as well as the District Curriculum Committee.  She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Northwestern University and taught fifth grade and science in Winnetka School District 36. In addition to her work as a teacher, she is a fine art portrait photographer. She is also an active participant in the Lake Bluff Garden Club.  Corinne and her husband, James,  have lived in Lake Bluff with their two daughters for 8 years, and both girls attend the Lake Bluff schools.

 

Eric Grenier

Eric is the current secretary of the Lake Bluff District 65 School Board, having joined the board after passage of the school district tax referendum in 2003. He is also a member of the district Finance and Facilities Committee. He and his family have been Lake Bluff residents for 13 years and have been residents of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff since moving to Illinois from southern California in 1988. He has spent over 25 years in the medical device manufacturing and sterilization management for, among others, American Hospital Supply, Baxter Healthcare, and Cardinal Health. He is currently vice president of quality and regulatory affairs for a small medical device component manufacturing division of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals based in Vancouver, BC. Eric and his wife Lynne have a son at Central School and a daughter at Lake Forest High School.

 

Lake Forest High School District 115

Nicki Snoblin

Nicki has lived in District 115 for 20 years. She is a freelance editor and web designer. She has been active in many organizations in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, including the League of Women Voters, the Lake Forest High School music booster organization, the Lake Bluff PTO, and Knollwood Neighbors. Nicki was an action team leader for Lake Forest High School’s strategic planning initiative in 2003. She also served a four-year term on the Shields Township Board of Trustees. Nicki and her husband, Karl, have two children, one a junior at Lake Forest High School and one an alumnus.
